Brighter Future – Keeping the Promise is Indian River State College’s $55 million comprehensive campaign to permanently endow the Promise Program and ensure tuition-free access to an associate degree for qualified high school graduates across Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee counties. At its heart, the campaign is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: education is the great equalizer, and opportunity should never be limited by financial circumstances.
Since its launch in 2022, the Promise Program has transformed lives and strengthened communities. Enrollment of local high school graduates has nearly doubled, with more than half of Promise students being first-generation college attendees and three out of four coming from underrepresented backgrounds. As a last-dollar program, Promise closes the gap after state and federal aid is applied, allowing students to focus on learning, persistence, and completion rather than tuition costs.
Brighter Future – Keeping the Promise is intentionally inclusive, inviting participation at every level. The campaign is advanced through principal and major gifts, planned giving, multi-year annual commitments, corporate partnerships, and accessible monthly support such as the $7-a-month support. Every contribution—regardless of size—plays a role in sustaining Promise and expanding its reach.
Campaign investments are advancing across all Indian River State College campuses, aligning resources with enrollment patterns, workforce needs, and regional impact. The Brighter Future – Keeping the Promise Campaign offers meaningful naming opportunities for donors who wish to create a lasting legacy through education. Transformational gifts may establish named endowments supporting the Promise Program, ensuring tuition-free access for students year after year while honoring the donor’s commitment to opportunity and equity.
Naming opportunities are available at multiple levels and may include endowed Promise funds, student success and completion initiatives, academic and workforce pathways, and campus-based Promise support aligned with community needs.
Major gifts may also provide recognition through other named programs, spaces, or initiatives that directly advance student access, persistence, and workforce readiness.
